The General Directorate of State Archives in Albania

Description  
The General Directorate of State Archives, founded in 1961, falls under the direct responsibility of the Albanian Council of Ministers. The Directorate supervises the application of the legal deposit in the National Archives and other archives. It draws up national procedures for archival practices and has published a list of those documents considered of historical significance. It also organizes an archive course for new staff, given the absence of archive schools in Albania.
