Summary
The Agreement recognizes the importance of solving mutual claims for cultural property taken to Hungary and the Russian Federation (the Parties) during and after the Second World War. The Agreement commits the Parties to make efforts to protect, safeguard, discover and return to circulation all such cultural property. The Parties agree to an exchange of information and documentation, to set up teams of specialists with the aim of identifying cultural treasures, and to establish legal mechanisms for the return of these treasures.
