Description
Beit Theresienstadt at Kibbutz Givat Chaym Ichud was set up in memory of the Jews of the ghetto of Theresienstadt (Terezin) who perished as a result of Nazi persecution. The archive of Beit Theresienstadt contains more than 500 files including documents, testimonies and artifacts.

The archive includes studies and newspaper articles. The documents are organized according to subject such as art, literature and children’s paintings. There are also files on specific individuals such as Leo Haas, Karel Fleischmann, Jacob Edelstein and Ruth Bondy. These files include biographical information, personal testimonies, various scripts and newspaper clips. A card index lists all the subjects and names in the files. There is also a painters' index which includes biographical information of each of the painters whose work is in the collection.

The library of the archive contains three thousand items in Hebrew and other languages, a collection of periodicals, catalogues dealing with art in the ghetto and a collection of about 250 videotapes and video testimonies.

Beit Terezin holds a continuously updated computer databases card index of Jews deported to the ghetto. It currently stores information on 160,000 prisoners and is available on request for a fee.
