Fondazione Centro di Documentazione Ebraica Contemporanea (CDEC)
Jewish Contemporary Documentation Centre

Description
The Foundation is a non governmental organisation which was established in 1955 to collect and preserve documents on contemporary Italian Jewish history with special emphasis on the persecution of the Jews during the Fascist regime and the Nazi Occupation and also to document the Jewish contribution to the Resistance movement during World War II in Italy.

The Foundation, which is the main source of information on Jewish history in Italy, has a library comprising some 18,000 volumes in Italian and other languages, a periodicals section containing 2,000 titles of which 160 are current, an archive of over 40 metres of documents (originals and copies), and many reels of microfilmed records from archives situated in Italy and abroad, photographs, slides, Italian press cuttings, audiocassettes and videotapes, as well as an archive documenting contemporary antisemitism and an educational sector on the history of the Holocaust.
