Description
The Center for Research on Dutch Jewry at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem is devoted to the study of the history and culture of the Jews of the Netherlands from the community's beginnings in the seventeenth century to modern times. Its field of interest includes both Sephardic and Ashkenazic Jews and encompasses the community's social organization, literature, thought, art and demographic development. The geographical focus is on Amsterdam and the smaller towns and villages outside Amsterdam.
