Description
The gallery was founded by Samuel M. Kootz and managed
by Nathan Halper (who later set up, in partnership with John Murray Cuddihy, the
H.C. Gallery in 1956). The Kootz Gallery exhibited modern art. The record
includes letters, writings, printed material relating to gallery activities, 48
photograph files of artists and their work, and exhibition catalogues, and an
interview with Kootz, dated 13 April 1964.
