The Council of American Jewish Museums (CAJM) was founded in 1977 under the auspices of the National Foundation for Jewish Culture to foster the development of North American Jewish museums in collecting Jewish art and artifacts and preserving, studying, exhibiting and interpreting them. It includes over 70 institutions in United States and Canada.
