Description
A one-day colloquium organised jointly by the State Ministry of Saxony for the Sciences and Arts, the Dresden State Collections of Art and the Coordination Office for Lost Cultural Assets in Magdeburg and intended as a training event for the staff of public museums, collections, academic collections, archives and libraries.
In addition to providing information on the issue, the colloquium sought to encourage the exchange of information and experience as well as offer an opportunity to ask questions.
The colloquium papers focused on public collections and questions arising for them in connection with looted property of Jewish provenance. Other issues addressed included wartime storage, incl. property held in custody and wartime losses. The event was chaired by Dr. Wolfgang Holler, Director of the Print Collection of the Dresden State Collections of Art.
