Dipl. Rest.

The German Lost Art Foundation in cooperation with CARMAH (Centre for Anthropological Research on Museums and Heritage) invites you to the event series "Colloquium Provenance Research".
On January 30, 2023, 6 p.m., Floria Segieth-Wuelfert will give a lecture on "Traces in situ - art technology and provenance characteristics."
The diverse questions posed by provenance research projects require a broad-based multidisciplinary approach. Increasingly, the technological knowledge of conservators and art technologists is used to achieve reliable identification of works and the reconstruction of a conclusive provenance. In the lecture, the methodical handling of provenance features on the artwork or artifact itself (in situ) will be presented and classified as a contribution of conservation-restoration to a well-founded, interdisciplinary provenance research. Accordingly, it is shown how an educational program on provenance research can be organized in an interdisciplinary and practice-oriented manner and how the disciplines involved can be made concretely useful.
Dipl. Rest. Floria Segieth-Wuelfert, M.A./M.A., works as a freelancer and at the Bern University of the Arts HKB. Since 2017, she has been the director of studies for the minor and CAS "Werkzuschreibung und Provenienzrecherche interdisziplinär" (Certificate of Advanced Studies at the HKB-Weiterbildung).
The event will take place as a videoconference via Webex. Participation is free of charge, but only possible after registration until January 27, 2023. Participants will receive their access data on the day of the event.
