Georg Kreis

Georg Kreis is Director of the Interdisciplinary Post-Graduate Institute of European Studies of the University of Basel, where he has been a professor since 1986. He was a Board Member of the Independent Commission of Experts 'Switzerland and the Second World War', (the Bergier Commission) and was responsible for the report into the traffic in looted art in Switzerland between 1933 and 1945. He is President of the Swiss Commission against Racism, and a member of the international advisory Board of the Bruno Kreisky-Forum in Vienna. His publications include Entartete Kunst für Basel.
