Albanian National Archives in Tirana

Description
Albanian World War II archival records are kept at the National Library in Tirana and at the Albanian National Archives. The National Archives hold all original documents of correspondence of the diplomatic activity of the Albanian State since 1912. (in accordance with Law. 7726, June 29, 1993). Also, all the original documents of bilateral and multilateral agreements signed by the Republic of Albania are deposited in this archive. It is not for general public use. However, as the above mentioned law stipulates that the documents kept in the archive and library are to be used for scientific, economic, social and cultural purposes, for purposes of civil administration and for the security and protection of human rights and interests, researchers should make a formal request to access the archive and address it to the Albanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
