Description
The article reports the efforts of Henry Sobel and the Brazilian Commission for the Investigation of Nazi Assets to locate ten works including a Picasso, (a pastel of 1925 Pierrot au Masque, confiscated from a Jewish collector in Paris in 1941) as part of international efforts to recover art spoliated during the Holocaust era. A Brazilian private collector had handed over to the Commission a Picasso painting and a Monet painting worth $2.2 million.
