Research into Nazi-confiscated cultural property in the museum's collection
No information is available

Research into cultural property missing from the museum
The museum states that objects from its collection were looted between April and July 1945 during the US occupation of the area. Part of the collection may have been shipped to the US or destroyed; some weapons may have been removed by individual soldiers. As most of the inventory lists are missing, the museum notes that further information might have to be searched for in US archives. The museum holds two partial inventory lists from the late 1920s. Copies are available from the Central Registry
