Title
Federal Finance Administration (Eidgenössische Finanzverwaltung): Fischer Gallery archives

Description
The Federal Finance Administration records include a complete set of the Fischer Gallery documents, under the reference E6100 (A). The Fischer Gallery, located in Lucerne, Switzerland, was important to the art trade during the Third Reich. Some of the art stolen in Germany was taken to Switzerland for storage or sale, and many of these sales were held at the Fischer Gallery. The archives of the Federal Finance Administration, now held in the Swiss Federal Archives, document the workings of the Fischer Gallery during the Nazi period.
