Description
The Conference included speakers and representatives from more than
fifteen countries. Reports were given on the circumstances surrounding the
displacement of cultural property in some countries during World War II. The
repatriation of property after the war was also considered, as well as the
subsequent reappearance of some looted property in secret repositories and
private collections. The Symposium also addressed contemporary restitution
efforts and possibilities for the future.
